Another day, another dime? Kate Hudson is revealing how she continues to profit from an early career role.
During Monday's episode of her "Sibling Revelry" podcast, the actress told guest Joey Lawrence that she still receives residual payments for her brief role in the 1992 film "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York."
"I still get residuals from Home Alone 2 'cause I sang in the chorus," Hudson told Lawrence. "I'm in that chorus, and then I get 10 cents every once in a while."
Lawrence, who earlier told Hudson he doesn't receive residuals for the commercials he appeared in as a child, said he could still relate to Hudson’s measly compensation.
"Sometimes I get, like, two cents and I'm like, 'Wait. (Doesn't) the paper and the envelope cost more?'" Lawrence joked, to which Hudson replied, "At least they're being fair and honest."
Hudson isn't the only celebrity who made a cameo in "Home Alone 2," a sequel to the 1990 film starring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Former President Donald Trump reflected in December on his appearance in the family comedy after director Chris Columbus alleged he forced his way into a cameo.
Columbus previously told Business Insider in December 2020 that Trump would only allow filming at his Plaza Hotel in New York if he could appear in the film.
"Nothing could be further from the truth," Trump wrote in a December 2023 post on Truth Social, his social media platform. "That cameo helped make the movie a success, but if they felt bullied, or didn’t want me, why did they put me in, and keep me there, for over 30 years? Because I was, and still am, great for the movie, that’s why! Just another Hollywood guy from the past looking for a quick fix of Trump publicity for himself!"
